I appreciate that finding the right therapist may be difficult, time consuming and even daunting especially when faced with the vast amount of information currently available to you on the web, tv and in the press. Trying to decide what type of therapy would be most helpful to you at this time may only add to the confusion.

I offer 'A Safe Place To Begin'

My aim is to respect diversity and offer a non-discriminatory practice to all who seek my help.

My special interest is trauma work particularly in regard to: Childhood Abuse [physical, sexual, emotional, neglect] : Domestic and elder Abuse: Work-Based Trauma: and for any professional working at the 'Coal Face'.
In particular with members of the :
Armed Forces
Police Service
Fire Service

Or for any person who would prefer to seek independent help and support away from their place of work or study.

I understand how an ongoing work situation or traumatic event can impact upon your life, affect your mental and physical wellbeing and change the relationship you have with those around you.

Are you feeling stressed, anxious, angry or depressed, unaware that you have started to shut people out in an attempt to cope with whatever is currently going on in your life?

Never be afraid to ask for help and don't leave it too long before telling someone how you are feeling as this will be the beginning of your recovery. There are many resources available to guide you to appropriate help and you may like to look at www.itsgoodtotalk.org.uk Alternatively discuss how you are feeling with your GP to see what help may be available to you. Please do not delay and never suffer in silence. If you are thinking about suicide call the Samaritans on 116 123 or 0800 1111 if you are under 19 years old.

About me,
I practice as a:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)
Systemic Practitioner with [young people, adults, family or couples work and individuals]
Counselling Supervisor (integrative therapy)
Clinical Hypnotherapist
Mindfulness Practitioner [individuals and group work].

I work as a Integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist in West Norfolk and the Kings Cross area of Central London by appointment only, the first appointment will be an assessment interview to establish if therapy is suitable for your needs. Mindfulness practice groups are currently only available in the West Norfolk area and Mindfulness Practice holidays will be made available for weeks during 2018 on an ad hoc basis. Mindfulness is no longer a fad but a way of life for the many who now practice daily.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and use Reg. MBACP in my title to reflect this. As a full member of this organisation I abide by the 'Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions' [2016] and this can be viewed on the BACP website. I am also a member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice 'AFT' for short.

I work with individuals, couples and families and offer short or open ended agreements. My fees are competitive and vary according to the service provided, usually between £65 and £100 per session. Sessions are usually for a period of 1 hour or 1.5 hours for couple or family work.

I am able to offer some low cost sessions for those in need [fee negotiable] and also to students [without income] currently in training to become a counsellor or psychotherapist, each session is £40 but must be attended weekly.

I invite all clients who wish to have therapy to attend an assessment interview prior to offering any working agreement, this way we can both get a feel if working together would be be appropriate and in your best interest.

I will charge a fixed fee of £90-00 for an assessment interview which usually takes 1.5. hours to complete and this is regardless of any agreed hourly rate should we then decide to work together. The assessment interview is your opportunity to ask questions and to discuss what brings you to therapy at this time.

I will explain some important aspects about working together, such as:

Confidentiality and the limits to confidentiality
Fees: For both session and assessment Interview
Venue address and parking
Cancellation policy
